Shop repair of industrial process equipment

The machine is out, it is on a pallet, and the line is waiting. At that point two things cost time: identifying the exact part on a machine whose nameplate has worn away, and finding at reassembly that a second component was out of tolerance and now has to be ordered.

DRN Industriel assembles, repairs and overhauls this equipment out of its Mirabel shop, and holds the wear parts for the most requested models on the shelf, including older machines whose manufacturer no longer supports the line. Repair is a real part of what this business does, not an accommodation on the side.

When the same part fails three times

A part that fails three times in eighteen months is not failing for three different reasons. A pump pulled for a seal leak often turns out to have a bent shaft, and the new seal will be destroyed within weeks on that shaft. The same logic holds for a bearing running hot in a journal that has gone oval, or a diaphragm splitting because the check valve upstream no longer seats. The part that breaks is the weakest one, not the guilty one.

What gets measured before a part goes in

The machine is opened, cleaned and measured. Shaft runout at the seal face, the condition and ovality of the bearing journals, the clearance between impeller and wear ring, the flatness of the joint face, the state of the threads and studs. The worn seal faces are examined because they name the cause: evenly polished, scored by particles, or heat-checked by a dry run. We put that record in front of you before any repair is committed.

This machine is too old to be repaired

Age does not stop a repair. Parts availability does. Bearings and gaskets are standard references, seals cross to an equivalent, and what remains particular to the machine can be measured and remade. We keep an inventory of rare and older parts the manufacturers no longer hold, and that is usually where the difference is decided.

Send us the nameplate and the fault

A sharp photograph of the nameplate and a description of the fault are enough to begin. We will tell you what is on the shelf and what has to be measured.
